Just like last year… Mercedes-Benz Club members interested in participating in the car show should meet at Sears Imports Mercedes-Benz in Minnetonka.
We will leave as a group and arrive at the show as a group. This way, we will all be parked and on display as a cohesive club group. All cars are welcome… any year, just shine them up before the show.
MEET at 8:30am!
Sears Imports Mercedes-Benz (by the big electronic billboard)
13500 Wayzata Blvd.
We will leave promptly at 8:45 to arrive at the show about 9:00am.
$20 donation to the Wayzata Rotary Club at the door to show your car.
PLEASE RSVP if you want to attend so we can let organizers know how many Mercedes-Benz vehicles to expect from our club.

We hope you can join us for the 3rd Annual Oktoberfest German Car show at the AutoMotorPlex presented by Sears Imported Autos (It would be the 19th Annual German Car Show we have helped organize). Several hundred cars are expected from Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Volkswagens, BMWs and Audis including vintage, classic, collector, race, show and daily drivers. Any German made car is welcome to display. There is no cost to be in the show or to spectate.
Food and beer will be provided by the good people at Deutschland Meats, the same people that own the great German restaurant Glockenspiel in St. Paul. We hope you come hungry for great food. Photo opportunities with the ladies in lederhosen to support teen driving programs.
(see LOTS of photos of Mercedes-Benz Club member cars and the whole scene at last year’s event below!)
Would you like to attend this BIG, multi-marque car show dedicated specifically for foreign cars?
We can park our cars together as a club if we arrive at the show together, so let’s convoy!
We need to let the show organizers know how many cars from the Mercedes-Benz Club are planning to attend so they can reserve space for us. It looks like we will get a WHOLE BLOCK this year, NOT just space for 6 cars!
Intermarque is a vintage car organization, show cars must be from model year 1992 or earlier. You don’t need a pristine show quality car to show your car at this show, it’s laid back and fun.
PLEASE RSVP if you’d like to convoy to the show and display with other MBCA club members! Or come along with the convoy to attend the show as a spectator, Everyone is welcome!
We will meet at SEARS IMPORTED AUTOS in Minnetonka between 8:00 – 8:30am and leave as a group once everyone arrives. We will actually meet in the parking lot JUST WEST of the main Sears dealership lot, by the big electronic billboard. Car placement at the show begins at 9:00am.
Please call or email me ASAP so I can RSVP to the show organizers with our car count. Dave Tobin (651) 216-1265 or send me an email: dave (at) daveknowscars.com
This was the most fun car show I attended last Summer, hundreds of cars in downtown Osseo, all sorts of European marques… Jaguar, MG, Triumph, Lotus, Austin Healey, Morgan, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Porsche, VW, Mercedes, Maserati, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, and a bunch of others. DON’T MISS THIS ONE!
It’s that time of year again… Mercedes-Benz of Maplewood and Porsche of St. Paul are hosting their annual Spring Auto Fair Car Show on Sunday, May 5, 2013.
This is usually the first real car event of the season for our German cars. The show runs from 10:00am until 2:00pm. Registration donation of $20 for all show cars, all proceeds go to benefit the Children’s Cancer Research Fund.
You don’t need a fancy show car for this event, people show their daily drivers right next to perfect condition show cars… bring what you’ve got and enjoy the show.
Hope to see you there with the rest of the Mercedes-Benz Club Twin Cities Section members.
The Winters 2013 issue of the “Northern Star,” the Mercedes-Benz club of America Twin Cities Section’s official quarterly publication, is ready for immediate web downloading! Club members can expect the printed copy of the newsletter in their mailboxes this week!
Sometimes the Winter issue is a bit light due to a lack of outdoor club events… this year Mercedes-Benz Club members were able to still have fun with cars despite the long Minnesota Winter.
This issue is packed with Spring and early Summer event announcements, an article about some of the Mercedes-Benz collector cars that appeared at the Arizona auctions in January – reprinted from the SL Market Letter with permission from Twin Cities Section member and publisher, John Olson. You’ll also see a re-cap of the new CLA Concept vehicle at the Twin Cities Auto Show. John Elliott doesn’t disappoint with his Tech Files column.
Last year’s Inaugural Walleye 1000 Vintage Rally was a success and now we’re gearing up for the 2013 event. While the Walleye 1000 isn’t an official Mercedes-Benz Club event, many of the participants were Mercedes-Benz Club members, more Mercedes-Benz vehicles participated in last year’s event than any other single marque. (Click the event announcement graphic above to visit the website).
2013 should be another great year for this fun, two day driving event. It’s designed to be a laid back, leisurely drive across some beautiful and fun to drive rural back roads of Minnesota and Wisconsin. Participants are provided with a route guide, maps and everything they will need to stay on the route. Nothing is timed, you don’t have to keep track of your speed or distance, it’s just a long drive held over two days with other fun car people driving old cars.
The event is designed for older cars, anything eligible for collector license plates in Minnesota is eligible… cars 20 years old or older, model years 1993 and older for the 2013 event.
There are scheduled lunch stop locations both days, participants will eat dinner together Saturday night, there is a hotel booked for the group Saturday night. Sunday evening is the Finisher’s Dinner back here in the Twin Cities.
Visit the event website at www.walleye1000.com for additional information and to download a complete event application.
You can contact event organizer, Dave Tobin for more information. Have a look at the Walleye 1000 website for all the details.

On Saturday, October 20th German car enthusiasts of all stripes turned out at the Auto Motor Plex for Oktoberfest. This year the Mercedes-Benz Club Twin Cities Section joined forces with the Auto Motor Plex in Chanhassen to hold their 18th Annual German Car Fest car show. (Event photos are below).
Several hundred cars showed up. Mercedes-Benz and Porsche cars were well represented with plenty of Volkswagens, BMWs and Audis in attendance as well.
As usual, the Bavarian Muzikmeisters German Band was in attendance, braving chilly temperatures in October, to provide high quality and authentic German entertainment.
The past several years have seen the Mercedes-Benz Club’s German Car Fest held at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Shakopee, MN. The Mercedes-Benz Club Board of Directors is currently searching for a new park-like venue where the 19th Annual German Car Fest can be held during the Summer of 2013. The club hopes to hold the event much earlier in the year than the Auto Motor Plex Oktoberfest event while the weather is warmer. Check back during the first quarter of 2013 to learn about more details about the 19th Annual Mercedes-Benz Club of America Twin Cities Section’s German Car Fest all German car show!
